Linear Recording is a unique studio in that we have tape machines that work. They are all serviced, maintained and used on a regular basis. For tracking we have an Ampex MM1200 2" 16 track, a Studer A800 2" 24 track and an Ampex AG440-8 1" 8 track. We also have an Ampex ATR102 for mixdown. In the digital realm we use Apogee converters. The tracking room uses AD & DA16X's while the mix room uses the SymphonyI/O. 90% of sessions here use a combination of analog tape for tracking and digital for overdubs and mix. Note we do not charge to use the tape machines! Nor do we charge for the first rental reel.
