Gelderland is qua oppervlakte de grootste provincie van Nederland en heeft ongeveer 2 miljoen inwoners. De mooie provincie telt 54 gemeenten en is toeristisch zeer in trek. De hoofdstad van de provincie is Arnhem en de grootste stad is Nijmegen. De provinciale organisatie bestaat uit een politiek deel en een ambtelijk deel. Provinciale Staten en Gedeputeerde Staten vormen het politieke bestuur onder leiding van de commissaris van de Koning.
