Lightning Weather Information

The purpose of Lightning Weather is to provide accurate weather information to the public in the name of safety. Social Media has grown by leaps and bounds. With technology these days, you can get a warning from someone on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, ect) faster than the NWS can get the alerts sounded on the weather radios. With more than 70% of the US Population using some sort of smartphone, they can get a message on their phone from social media before they get the message that severe weather is imminent in their area. Lightning Weather's US page (Facebook.com/lightningweather) covers the enitre United States. We have a Severe Weather Expert, Hurricane Specialist, plus a number of Skywarn Spotters and Storm Chasers volunteering their time to save lives. lightningweather.com is geared for the area around Eastern Iowa, NW and Western Illinois; specifically the Quad Cities (Davenport, IA, Moline, IL). Lightning Weather's website provides current conditions, weather alerts, forecasts as well as radar information among other things. The Alerts posted on Lightning Weather are also relayed to the facebook page (Lightningwxqc). All posts on both Lightning Weather and QC's Facebook pages are automatically simulcast to their respecitve twitter handles (US page: @lightningweather) [and] (QC page: @lightningwxqc).
