LIG Computer Information

LIG Computer was founded by Lawrence Glauberman in March, 2000. It all started in an apartment located on Van Anden St in Auburn, NY. LIG began by building Windows 95/98 and Windows NT computer systems for local business clients. In these days computers were quirky machines (much more than now) so producing a product that worked quickly became popular. In late 2000, LIG began building a web hosting service. This consisted of two DNS servers, an email server, web server and a DSL line from Digital Broadband. Shortly thereafter Digital Broadband went bankrupt and Choice One installed a DSL line. In the summer of 2001, we bought our first dialup server, a Multi-Tech Commplete 2400. Choice One installed a voice T1 and a data T1 in place of the DSL. Later that year our first yellow page ad came out and the phone began ringing. By mid 2002, we had a few hundred dialup clients and the list of consulting clients was growing too. We added three additional T1 lines from Choice One and a small backup generator. In the summer of 2005, we relocated our network servers to the Choice One colo in Syracuse, NY. The business had grown enough where an apartment was no longer adequate. In August of 2006, we opened our first retail location on East Genesee St in Auburn. Television and radio commercials were soon to follow. In September 2011, we moved to our current location at 242 Grant Ave. It's a great location.
