LifeFlow began when a group of physicians, scientists and technologists banded together and committed themselves to improving health of patients affected by the coronary artery disease (CAD), which is the leading cause of death in the Western hemisphere for both men and women. CAD is caused by the narrowing of the coronary arteries, typically leading to by atherosclerosis or plaque build-up. Without proper treatment the disease may cause life-threatening complications like heart attacks or strokes. While the modern cardiology seems well-equipped with the tools to save lives of the CAD-affected patients, there are still significant risks associated with both the treatment as well as the diagnostic procedures conducted by physicians at cardiology wards in hospitals throughout the world on daily bases. LifeFlow is a Polish venture which specializes in cardiac diagnostics. Our team consisting of bio-engineers, cardiologists and ICT-professionals has created an innovative, non-invasive method of identifying atherosclerosis based on algorithms used in computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The technology offered by LifeFlow is likely to revolutionize the market of cardio-diagnostic tools and help to significantly reduce the risks associated with invasive tests.
