Libro – read more. is a community in Slovakia built around one simple thing: a love of books. We connect people who enjoy discovering new writers, talking about what they're reading, and nudging each other a little further out of their usual shelves. What started as a small WhatsApp group between a few friends who couldn't stop talking about books has grown into something we honestly didn't see coming – over 200 members spread across Slovakia, from teenagers to people well into their careers, working in all kinds of fields and reading all kinds of things. Some are devoted to fiction, others live for history or poetry, and plenty are somewhere in between. We live partly online, through WhatsApp and social media, and partly in real life. Our regular gatherings include book club meetings, slower-paced book club breakfasts in the morning, book swaps, book presentations, and evenings with authors and poets. On top of that, we donate books to people who need them, run recycling initiatives via Libro BookSwap public events, and try to keep our reading habits as sustainable as we can. At the heart of it, we believe reading makes us sharper, more curious, and more patient with each other – and that the conversations books spark tend to go deeper than most of what we scroll past in a day. Libro is our small attempt to turn that into something real: people actually meeting, actually talking, actually listening... and hanging out! Get out of your comfort zone and join us!
