Levrant Information

Levrant is a specialist conservation practice rooted in a lineage that began in 1948. We work as conservation architects, heritage, and townscape consultants, focusing exclusively on historic buildings, conservation areas, and culturally sensitive environments. Our approach reflects the belief that conservation is about continuity rather than nostalgia. Each project begins with close study of a building’s history, materials, and craft, leading to clear, reasoned, and contextually appropriate strategies that allow places to evolve while retaining their integrity. The practice combines academic understanding, architectural judgement, and hands-on construction experience, informed by real commercial and planning realities. Our surveys, appraisals, and inspections are recognised for their rigorous, holistic analysis and their ability to balance heritage significance with contemporary use. Our philosophy is informed by SPAB principles of repair over replacement, valuing historic fabric, traditional methods, and a discerning eye for detail. This respect for material authenticity underpins all our work, ensuring interventions are pragmatic, sensitive, and sustainable.
