Let’s Be Blunt CIC is a prevention-focused organisation working to reduce knife harm through practical, everyday solutions, education and lived experience. Founded by Leanne Lucas following the Southport attack in July 2024, Let’s Be Blunt brings a unique and credible voice to the national conversation on knife harm - ensuring prevention is central to the response. The organisation focuses on simple, achievable changes that individuals, families and organisations can make to reduce risk and create safer environments. This includes promoting the adoption of safer kitchen knives without pointed tips and encouraging households to take part in the Let’s Be Blunt pledge. Alongside this, Let’s Be Blunt delivers impactful education and awareness sessions, using lived experience to challenge perceptions, influence behaviour and support long-term prevention. Our work supports a public health approach, recognising that reducing knife harm requires collaboration across sectors including education, policing, health and communities.
