LessonWriter Information

LessonWriter is winding down. After many years helping teachers create literacy instruction from authentic materials, we have decided not to proceed with our planned relaunch. The LessonWriter application is being retired. We’re preserving this page, our video, and the LessonWriter Blog as a record of the project. We’re grateful to the teachers, students, developers, and supporters who were part of LessonWriter over the years. LessonWriter.com automatically creates print, web, and mobile-ready lessons to promote comprehension in ANY subject: an article on cell structure for biology class, a primary source document in history, a short story, or this very moment's headline news. All you do is right click on the web page you want to use, and your work is done. LessonWriter was built by teachers, for teachers, with one idea in mind: make it easier to teach better. One teacher created an application to perform repetitive tasks with new materials, such as formatting worksheets and creating flashcards from a newspaper article. Colleagues noticed and added their own ideas and applications, and as the collection grew, another teacher suggested the separate programs be brought together in a single website. LessonWriter was born! LessonWriter combines the virtues of traditional textbooks with the immediate, limitless content of the internet and the best practices of expert teachers. All material is instantly available for classroom, blended, and distance-learning environments. So what do YOU want to teach today?
