Knitwits and Crafty Stitchers is Galway's newest wool and fabric supply store. The business was started by Kathryn O'Toole in June of 2013. Kathryn learned the basics of knitting and sewing as a child in National school and like many other Irish Children didn't keep it up. She picked up the needles again in 2011 as a way to create individual gifts after many of her friends started having families of their own. Her passion for needle crafts became ignited. In early 2013 Kathryn became redundant and made the decision to transform her hobby into her career. Knitwits and Crafty stitches began to trade on line in June 2013 and the physical shop opened shortly after in August. The shop opens 6 days a week Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm. We also trade on line 24/7 but only ship within Ireland. We are based on the outskirts of Galway city which is easily accessible by car, bus or on foot - you'll find a map and directions on the "How to find us Page" page. Due to our location there is ample free parking. Currently we have limited stock available on line but we are gradually adding items to our catalogue. There is a larger selection available in store so if there is something you're looking for don't be afraid to drop us an email or pick up the phone we'll do our best to get you sorted. We aim to have an extensive selection of yarns, patterns, books, fabrics, cross stitch, tapestry, ribbons, buttons and accessories for all forms of needle craft. We aim to cater for all ages and budgets. Many items can be ordered in specifically to meet a particular customer's needs. We have a beautiful classroom set up that caters for up to 10 students at a time. In this space we run beginner classes in Knitting, crochet and quilting. We also run improver classes in crochet and quilting. On a regular basis we run a number of workshops in Tunisian crochet, sewing and getting to know your sewing machine.
