Leighton Farm Information

At Leighton Farm, we are involved in many areas of the thoroughbred industry. While we do rest our racehorses here, that's only one aspect of our business. We are actively involved in the rescue of thoroughbreds who are in need. Both through funding and direct involvement. As can be seen by the before and after photos of Grandy Bear. Our efforts are paying off! We also help horsemen place horses who are not saleable. Sometimes due to young age or imperfection. Leighton Farm is now participating in the resale of thoroughbreds retiring from racing commonly known at ottb's. In addition to handling our own horses, we are helping reputable trainers sell horses who are more suited to other equestrian disciplines. Many of our horses go on to be eventers, hunters, dressage and dependable riding horses. Most, but not all of the horses for sale are ottb's, some are thorougbred prospects and a few are other breeds. With over twenty years in Maryland racing, we have a unique understanding of the thoroughbred racing industry. We've cultivated many relationships with trainers who care about the future of their horses.
