Winthrop Primary School is a highly regarded Independent Public School set on a hilltop in a family friendly suburb located 12km south of Perth. It is close to Fiona Stanley Hospital, Murdoch University, Murdoch Hospital and a short drive to the Port of Fremantle. The school population of 650 students includes 48% of children who come from homes where English is an Additional Language (EAL/D). We have very experienced staff, including 9 Level 3 Classroom Teachers. In addition to an inclusive classroom curriculum, Winthrop Primary School provides special programs in Music, Japanese, Science, Performing Arts and Health. At Winthrop Primary School we strive to ensure that students 'Learn and Grow Together'. The achievements and progress of our school are strongly supported by parents who are actively involved at all levels of the school program. This is evident in the work of the School Board, Parents and Citizens, Parent Class Representatives, Band Committee, Canteen Committee and Uniform Shop. Building the Education Revolution funded 2 new classroom blocks in 2011. In 2015 we managed to keep a school transportable on-site which is used for before and after school care.
