Healing Hooves provides natural vegetation management services using hungry goats to clear weeds, brush, blackberries, etc. with professional targeted grazing techniques. Craig Madsen has been actively working as a “goat renter guy” since 2002, taking our herd of hungry ruminants across the state of Washington and occasionally over the borders into Idaho and Oregon. When you rent our goats, you get Craig’s expertise in range management and his handiness with a machete as part of the bargain. Craig can also coach you on managing your own small acreage with your own small herd. The keys are: 1. Knowing what you want the land to look like. Open pasture? Shaded forest fire break? Planted back to native vegetation? Just keep those darn blackberries from taking over the hillside? 2. Planning your grazing to put the right animals at the right density at the right time for the right length of time on each piece of land in order to create tour desired future landscape. Craig is trained as an educator in Allan Savory's Holistic Management system, and is available for workshops and presentations.
