The Laurel Capital Group, LLC (Laurel), is an alternative asset manager focused on delivering compelling risk-adjusted returns for its investors throughout the investment cycle. Based in Wellesley, Massachusetts, the firm was founded in 2009 by Brian Steck. Laurel employs a patient, long-biased, value- and event-oriented investment strategy. While maintaining a reasonable tolerance for volatility, we limit the use of leverage and place a strong emphasis on protecting capital in difficult markets. Laurel believes that the foundation of any asset manager is the strength of its relationship with investors and their confidence in the firm's approach. Prior to founding Laurel, Mr. Steck spent eight years focusing on U.S. and European investment opportunities as a partner and managing director at two prominent hedge funds, as well as ten years specializing in equity derivatives, risk management and hedge fund strategies at UBS AG.
