JURA Elektroapparate AG was founded in 1931 by Leo Henzirohs in the Swiss town of Niederbuchsiten (Canton Solothurn). Niederbuchsiten, still the company headquarters today, is located at the southern end of the Jura mountains, and it is these mountains that have given the company its name. As you see, the brand name JURA comes from the range of mountains at the foot of which the factory was built.
