LAYER_Architecture Information

LAYER Architecture is a nimble, hands-on, full-service design practice. Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, we founded our practice on the principle that the best design solutions are uncovered through open and collaborative dialogue. Listening to your needs and adjusting our process to fit your challenges, we develop unique practical design solutions for you. From initial design concepts, during document development, and through the construction process our team brings the best of our experience to serve your projects goals. Our firm can work at any scale. No project is too small or too large. With 50 years of collective experience among our two principals, we offer top tier design expertise with the flexibility and agility of a small design practice. We are used to working with people who have limited resources and need us to do more with less. Being nimble allows us to author the most practical and actionable design solutions. As a practice we approach each project with a strong commitment to the environment. With an overlay of the best sustainable practices, we specialize in commercial, educational, and residential design projects. While the design process must consider various possibilities and priorities, we believe this layered process reveals and integrates the building elements into simple yet well-designed spaces. Our work is a critical reflection of our time. LAYER Architecture is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).
