Laurus Ryecroft Information

Laurus Ryecroft is a new secondary free school for 11-18 year old students in Tameside. The school is run by the Laurus Trust and replicates the outstanding education offered by the trust's founder school, Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS). CHHS, based in Stockport, is a hugely oversubscribed school and was recently named in the Sunday Times 'Parent Power' top 25 comprehensive schools in the country. Laurus Ryecroft is a non-selective, non-denominational free school. It opened in September 2018, initially providing 150 Year 7 places in five forms with 30 students in each. A further seven Year 7 forms will be added each academic year. In addition to this the school will have a sixth form of 300 students. Our first cohort of students are housed in temporary accommodation on the site of the former Littlemoss High School whilst the permanent building is constructed on the same site. The permanent school buildings will provide state of the art facilities and we anticipate they will be ready to move into during the academic year 2019/2020.
