Founded in 2008, Laurent Cohen-Tanugi Avocats is an international boutique firm, drawing from the wide range of experience of its founder. A member of the Paris and New York Bars, Laurent Cohen-Tanugi practiced as a partner at two of the most prestigious international law firms and as General Counsel of a global corporation over a career of thirty years, while also a renowned writer, public figure and opinion leader on the French, European, and international stage. The Firm focuses on three main practice areas: - international mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, where we are involved in strategic planning, negotiation and drafting of the principal documentation; - international arbitration and litigation and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, where Laurent Cohen-Tanugi acts as arbitrator, counsel, mediator, or expert witness; - economic regulation, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, in particular in the areas of anti-corruption and competition law, where the Firm has already carried out two mandates in the role of independent compliance monitor. Laurent Cohen-Tanugi is to date the only French lawyer to have been appointed independent corporate monitor in connection with a major FCPA matter by the United States Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission.
