Latino Student Fund Information

The mission of the Latino Student Fund (LSF) is to provide opportunities for a strong academic foundation for PreK-12th grade students of Hispanic descent to promote higher education and professional leadership. The LSF was founded in 1994 in Washington, DC, by community leaders, educators, and parents who recognized the overwhelming need to combat school dropout rates in the Latino community by providing better access to educational opportunities. Our goals are: 1. To provide financial aid grants and mentoring support to Latino families; 2. To further improve the academic performance of Latino Students in our Scholars and Tutoring Programs; 3. To increase our community outreach program efforts by building more effective collaborative partnerships with schools and with community-based organizations; 4. To help parents and families gain the skills, confidence, and knowledge necessary to successfully navigate the US educational system and serve as strong advocates for their children. The Latino Student Fund serves hundreds of Hispanic/Latino youth and their families each year, through scholarships, academic support services, informational outreach and community events.
