The idea that was once discussed in a casual weekend gathering has now progressed to be a viable tested technology that can revolutionize the optical coherence tomography market. The technology underlying our startup is the outcome of a Ph.D project done in the Analog and Mixed Signal Interfaces Lab under the supervision of Prof. Sebastian Hoyos. Graduate Students Amir Tofighi Zavareh and Oscar Barajas have been involved in developing the technology. Overcoming several challenges, the team has published multiple scientific papers, filed patents, and participated in start-up incubators. These efforts have yielded to the embarkation of Lasync Technologies, Inc. Lasync Technologies, Inc. proposes an OCT engine that performs all the signal processing associated with these devices, from data acquisition to image construction, on the fly without the need of external computational devices. Our proprietary technology enables full OCT manufacturers to utilize our ideas and achieve real-time ultra-fast OCT systems for a variety of applications.
