LaserVision provides cost-effective, convenient access to transportable and fixed-based excimer lasers plus all the related resources necessary for a successful refractive practice including equipment and personnel. The company's comprehensive programs focus on giving surgeons tools they want to maximize their clinical and business success. Through its flexible operating model, LaserVision can provide a customized approach for the independent surgeon. LaserVision pioneered the laser access industry, operating centers in Canada and Europe prior to FDA approval in the United States; and was first to develop a system to share excimer lasers among multiple sites. In 2001, LaserVision acquired ClearVision and still operates a number of these fixed-site open access laser centers across the U.S. LaserVision was the first maker of excimer laser technology broadly available. In addition to fixed-site laser opportunities, LaserVision offers a proprietary mobile system (Roll- On- Roll- Off). The result of several years of testing this unique system allows the delicate internal systems of the excimer laser to withstand the rigors of movement. In 2001 LaserVision assisted in performing more than 135,000 LASIK procedures with over 900 surgeons. Approximately half of these procedures were performed on RORO lasers with exceptional results.
