LaserVault helps IBM i and IBM Power Systems organizations move away from the day-to-day headaches of physical tape without changing the backup processes they already rely on. Our focus is LaserVault ViTL, a virtual tape library designed specifically for IBM i. ViTL presents IBM i with a familiar tape library while storing virtual tapes on disk, NAS, SAN, deduplication systems, or cloud storage. With ViTL, you can keep using standard IBM i backup tools and workflows, including BRMS, Robot Save, and native IBM i save commands, while eliminating the need to manage physical tape for routine backups. ViTL can also serve as the connection between IBM i and modern data protection platforms, including deduplication, replication, and cloud storage. Fibre Channel, SAS, and iSCSI connectivity options provide flexibility for different environments. The goal is straightforward: make IBM i backup and recovery easier to manage, faster to work with, and more flexible for onsite protection, offsite copies, disaster recovery, and long-term retention.
