Coolmore Stud is owned by John Magnier, originally from Co. Cork. Operating since the 1850’s the Magnier family has a long established tradition in the South of Ireland for standing top class National Hunt stallions (like 14-time Champion sire Deep Run). It continues to this day in Cork with top class stallions such as Flemensfirth, Milan, Getaway, Westerner, Yeats etc. Coolmore’s headquarters in Fethard, Co. Tipperary was later developed in the 1970’s in conjunction with John Magnier’s late father in law, the outstanding horse trainer Vincent O' Brien, and Robert Sangster with the objective of creating a world class stallion operation. Coolmore Stud is a global leader in thoroughbred horse racing and breeding, standing the top stallions in Europe, the USA and Australia.
