Strategic advising and consulting across schools, non-profits, and tech to build and strengthen communities of learning. Claire Goldsmith is a consultant and advisor in strategy and innovation across educational organizations. As executive director of the Malone Schools Online Network (MSON) from 2016-2022, she expanded and strengthened the national online learning consortium, led professional development for teachers nationwide, and created innovative new programming. Claire helped develop MSON while serving in the Stanford Online High School leadership, ultimately serving as director of admission and external relations. During her five-year tenure, she oversaw year-over-year enrollment growth; managed financial aid, student recruitment, and school collaborations; taught history; and served as the liaison to the Malone Family Foundation for the school’s $5 million scholarship endowment. Previously, Claire taught and coached debate at the Harvard-Westlake School (CA). Claire is Chair of the Board of the Enrollment Management Association, a board on which she has served since 2016 and on which she drove the strategic planning process. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Winsor School (MA), her alma mater, the Board of Trustees of Wilshire Boulevard Temple, which runs Brawerman Elementary School (CA) and three preschool campuses, the Advisory Council of Geffen Academy of UCLA (CA) and Stanford Online High School (CA), and a member of the Institute for Educational Advancement’s Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship Committee. She holds an AB from Harvard College in history and literature and a master’s degree in policy, organization, and leadership studies from the Stanford University School of Education. She completed graduate work on a Harvard fellowship at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and was a fellow with Education Pioneers. Claire has presented at schools and conferences in the US and abroad and appeared in print and on television and podcasts.
