Lake Mountain Alpine Resort Information

The Lake Mountain Alpine Resort is one of Victoria’s officially designated Alpine Resorts and is run by the Southern Alpine Resort Management Board. More widely known for the snow season, Lake Mountain Alpine Resort is a year-round resort with plenty of options to suit families, adventurers, and the Wildflower enthusiast. Lake Mountain Alpine Resort has the distinction of being the closest alpine snow Resort to Melbourne, only 2 hours, and with over over 35 km of world-class cross country skiing trails and plenty to offer first-time visitors to the snow, our little mountain is also set up to make it easy for people of any age and ability to simply drive up the mountain at any time of the year, step out of their car and start enjoying the experience of outdoor adventure. During the snow season, Lake Mountain Alpine Resort turns into a winter wonderland with plenty of fun for the whole family. Enjoy the snow for the very first time, with designated snow play areas, or hire a toboggan and hit the 3 toboggan runs for some truly unadulterated fun. Cross Country skiing is a great way to explore our little mountain or for something a little less paced, hire snowshoes and hit the snowshoe trail. Lessons and guided tours can be organised through our Snowsports Department. Beginner Snowboard lessons are available for children 5-14 years of age. The dual 240m Flying Fox is sure to test the nerves of some, while the tube run is a great way to slide down the designated tube run. If you are feeling competitive, jump in a game of laser tag with some friends or family. Once the snow melts, our little mountain starts to turn into a burst of colour with the wildflowers starting to bloom. We offer guided Wildflower walks from November through to January. The most recent addition to the adventures at Lake Mountain Alpine Resort is the recently completed single track mountain bike trail. Cascades was completed in 2019 with single track from the resort village to Marysville.
