In our commitment to provide support to local charities, we hope to foster stronger community ties within the Lake Forest Community. Mothers Trust Foundation is a non-profit organization supporting social service providers by offering assistance to children in need in Lake County, Illinois. They make benefits and opportunities available which cannot be obtained from other sources. Their primary goal is to assist children in trouble or crisis, raise awareness of childrens needs, link needs with community resources and provide opportunities for volunteers to be involved. The Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association believes that the quality of life should never be limited by a physical or visual impairment. They believe that it is possible to remove boundaries, elevate expectations, fulfill dreams, enhance self-worth and empower individuals with disabilities in competitive and recreational sports. The mission is to promote and support the optimal development and well being of youth and adults who have a primary physical or visual impairment through the provision of inclusive recreational, fitness and competitive sports activities and to offer opportunities for empowerment through education, leadership and training in collaboration with community-based organizations. The Lake Forest Resale Shop will gladly accept gently used clothing, household goods, tabletop and kitchenware, small furnishings and decorative items (during normal store hours). As a not-for-profit resale shop, we welcome the help of volunteers! If you love thrift stores, consider sharing a few hours a week helping sort, price and organize new donations.
