Lafame was created to address a critical need: understanding the real impact of mutations on biology in order to inform therapeutic decisions. Its founding belief is simple and fundamental: mutations must be understood and harnessed, not passively endured. Born from over twenty years of academic research in computational biology, Lafame is a deeptech startup, a spin-off of the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research), that develops digital health solutions to analyze the pathophysiological consequences of mutations and help pharmaceutical stakeholders make better decisions. Unlike purely predictive approaches, Lafame relies on deterministic models, sovereign infrastructures, and complete data control to produce reliable, explainable, and directly actionable results. This approach is embodied in two complementary software applications. • In virology, AfterVir analyzes the effect of viral mutations on therapeutic targets, identifies resistances, and enables the optimization of vaccine formulations. It is based on solid evidence, including a proof of concept (POC) conducted with the Pasteur Institute on the influenza virus (H1N1). In oncology, OncoTwin is a universal digital twin that analyzes the impact of mutations on a large scale, allows for patient stratification to optimize clinical trials, and identifies repositioning opportunities. A POC is currently underway for bladder cancer with the Gustave Roussy Institute. At the intersection of biology, digital technology, and industrial challenges, Lafame designs solutions aimed at reducing uncertainty and improving treatment efficacy, benefiting both pharmaceutical companies and patients.
