Lab-Tools is a spin-off company speciallising in nano-science and nano-metrology. Nano-science : Nano-scale properties of liquids in pores and at interfaces. Nano-metrology : Bulk nano-scale to micro-scale characterisation; NMR Cryoporometry and neutron scattering techniques. NMR Cryoporometry is a recent technique that we have developed for measuring and studying porous materials on the nano- to micro-scale. It can also analyse densely packed particles. Applications : Advanced Materials / High Value Manufacturing : Nano- to Micro-scale metrology of clay, cement, concrete, wood and medical materials, leading to higher performance and more cost-effective manufacturing and longer in-service lifetime. Energy: Measuring nano-pore distributions in solid electrolytes for higher performance batteries. Measuring nano- to micro-pore distributions in sandstone, carbonate and shale rock systems. Understanding wetabillity in porous rock systems. Understanding entrapment in oil/water systems in porous rocks.
