인류평화 추구하는 ‘학문과 평화’의 전당 ‘학문과 평화의 전당’ 경희대학교는 1949년 5월 18일 교시 ‘문화세계의 창조’와 함께 첫 발을 내디뎠다. 창학 이래 학술과 실천을 창조적으로 결합, 평화로운 인류사회 건설에 기여하는 학술기관 및 사회기관으로서 68년 역사와 전통을 이어오고 있다. 한국전쟁 시기 부산으로 대학을 옮겼던 경희는 1953년 회기동 고황산 기슭에 서울캠퍼스를 마련하고 대학의 기틀을 다졌다. 이어 1979년 국제캠퍼스, 1984년 광릉 캠퍼스를 조성해 종합적이고도 미래지향적인 학문 체계를 갖췄다. 현재 학부 재학생 3만 2,843명, 전임교원 1,452명, 21개 단과대학, 81개 학과(전공)를 보유한 국내 굴지의 종합대학(2017년 기준)이다.
