Kyoto Obubu Tea Farms is a Japanese tea brand owned and operated by tea farmers in the town of Wazuka. Inspired by a single cup of tea, Akihiro Kita and Yasuharu Matsumoto established the company in 2004 as an agricultural social venture. Akky and Matsu’s aim was, and still is, to teach tea lovers both in Japan and overseas about the value of tea farming, and to contribute to society through tea. Obubu relies on three main pillars of its philosophy which are (1) Quality, (2) Community, and (3) Education. Obubu as a business is uniquely operated due to the fact we are a vertically integrated company, we carry out every step of the process from growing, to process and to sales. Obubu as a company is operated with few permanent members and supported by interns. Obubu’s internship program is always a part of Obubu as a company as the internship program helps Obubu to introduce Japanese tea to the world and part of our (3) Education pillar. *How can you benefit from joining Obubu’s Internship program?* Behind the scenes of Japanese tea company as a business and directly involved with our team who dedicated many years to master the art of tea farming and ensures the quality of our tea.
