Kynarou Information

​Kynarou is a french indian NGO, working for development of deprived villages of South India.​ The main objective of Kynarou NGO is an establishment of sustainable access to safe drinking water, sanitation, hygiene and health. The NGO has been created in 2004​, in France​. The activities take place in deprived villages of Tamil Nadu, in South India. Our general philosophy is to work with and not only for local population. Our activities are shared between India with ten employed local operators and one French employees, and France where one employees and fifteen volunteers. The partners are essentially French and funds are raised during cultural events in Europe (France, Italy, Belgium) for the running costs. Our mission has three main objectives : - Improving access to drinking water by building networks of water supply and sanitation complexes in the villages - Building skills among populations by forming committees and groups of women responsible for water and sanitation management - Raising awareness among the populations for the use of water and to basic sanitation Since 2010, KYNAROU is implementing two major projects namely "KYNAROU SANTE and SO WATER" projects in Theni district ie. in 3 major blocks: Aundipatty, Uthamapalayam and Chinnamanur. KYNAROU has provided drinking water to 29 villages , sanitation facilities to 19 villages and has implemented WM activities in 15 villages as aslo supplied drinking water filters for school children in 15 villages. At present, we has a team of 10 members in the base (ie. Theni) office and 5 members in KYNAROU India HQ (i.e. Pondicherry) office. All the KYNAROU projects are purely demand driven and its approach style is holistic. We ensure that the best talent in the industry is hired to give continuous and best services to the community.
