Kyber Developments Limited was founded in Whistler, British Columbia in 1998 by Frank Fletcher, who had founded and operated a group of construction companies in Asia from 1971 to 1998 from his previous base in Hong Kong. His attraction to Whistler as a new place to live and work was immediate on arriving for his family's first ski trip in 1994 when he began searching for and acquiring choice single-family lots for development. Between 1994 and 2000 Kyber and its affiliate companies assembled a land bank on which to start development of homes that would compliment the choice properties acquired and that would be of the highest standard of design and finish attainable. Since inception Kyber has developed many of the finest examples of custom home construction in Whistler, and each of its homes entered into annual Best Home contests, whether for the Georgie Awards, or the National Homebuilders' Awards or SAM has been a winner.
