Kybele Dance Theater Information

Kybele Dance Theater, founded in 2003 by Seda Aybay, is a contemporary dance company comprised of 8 dancers. The unique signature of the pieces encompasses stories that are communicated through the living art form of dance. The athletic, strength and stamina-requiring movement vocabulary is created by fusing together elements of theatrical, modern, and different ethnic dance forms. The pieces are often enhanced with props such as fans, scarves and folding chairs and are performed to music that combines ethnic with modern melodies. Kybele Dance Theater/Seda Aybay is available for commissioned works, full and co-produced concerts, workshops and master classes in modern dance technique, partnering, and choreography.
