Krushival Information

In Raigad district, many new movements were launched to fight against injustice and exploitation upon the underprivileged and the hard working common people. Since then, Krushival has been the face of the people of Raigad district. Back then the farmer's leader, Narayan Nagu Patil, who was outraged by the injustice on farmers and the scandal of the newspapers, realized that there was no alternative but to start his own newspaper. With strong will and stubbornness, Narayan Nagu Patil raised funds and created a printing press of Rs.1200. Narayan Nagu Patil decided to name the newspaper after the rational movement, which would also indicate a right direction; hence Krushival! This first generation nurtured and grew Krushival, further giving justice to farmers, labourers and poor masses. After Narayan Nagu Patil, Krushival's sources came to Prabhakar Patil. Bringing in these revolutions, Narayan Nagu Patil had to face too many problems and so did Prabhakar Patil. But Prabhakar Patil used Krushival as a weapon against injustice and carried out the operations on the lines of Krushival's agitation - "Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhaya". The drastic transformation of Krushival began when its charge fell into the hands of MLA Jayant Patil. Crossing all stages of progress and the boundaries of Raigad, Krushival became a reputed and reliable daily newspaper in Konkan. In 1995, Krushival was a 6 pager newspaper, while most newspapers in Mumbai-Pune were colored. That's when Jayant Patil decided to work on and release coloured edition of Krushival. In 2007 on occasion of Gudipadwa, Krushival changed its colors, but the spirit remained the same. After this, Supriya Patil, wife of Jayant Patil, took the Krushival sources. While many newspaper publishers were shutting down, Krushival this time, with the support of its readers stood firm in the competition of capitalism and other newspapers.
