Kreca has started breeding insects 35 years ago in the Netherlands. It's a family owned business. We have started with breeding crickets and nowadays we deliver about ten different types of insects for the animal feed consumption and are leader in the new arena of human food. We deliver different types of mealworms (like the Morio or Buffalo Worms or Mealworms) but also cockroaches, grasshoppers and special types of flies. In our laboratory in the Netherlands, we have developed several unique and patented ways of breeding and various unique ways of food composition to deliver the maximum amount and highest quality of insects. We deliver worldwide with the focus on Europe. Since 1995 we have become the market leader in freeze drying insects where we guarantee a maximum percentage of protein left in the insect. Due to the increase in the world population (2013; 7 billion - 2045: 9 billion) the demand for protein cannot be fulfilled by conventional sources like different types of meat and our insects are the answer to this. We do this in an environmental healthy way and plan to establish various breeding plans in different countries worldwide to meet the ongoing demands.
