Kovilta is developing system-on-chip solutions for improving real-time autonomous navigation in mobile platforms operating on limited battery power, such as drones and robots. Kovilta's extremely low-lag sensor-processor platforms can also be utilized to implement safer and more efficient automotive ADAS and autonomous vehicles. Kovilta's products combine a flexible HDR image sensor front-end with extremely efficient massively-parallel custom processing cores on the same chip. This enables spatio-temporal feature analysis, object classification and region-of-interest attention operations to minimize redundant chip data readout and compute lag, as well as the need for external processing resources. This leads to an advantage in reaction speed, power consumption, system size/weight and cost, compared to separate sensor+NPU solutions.
