Kontor is the network for workplace design, where professional designers and their clients discover trends, collect inspiration, and share ideas. We contextually connect design imagery with product information on a visually rich platform. Kontor launched in November 2015 and quickly grew into the largest database of workplace photography in the world. We have partnered with hundreds of top design firms (HOK, Perkins+Will, SOM, Studios) and product brands (Knoll, Herman Miller, Moooi) to build our global network. The company was founded by a group of design-obsessed entrepreneurs—Mia Lewin, Andy Parsons, Kevin Ryan, and Tom Melcher—and the team combines expertise from Gilt Groupe, eBay, McKinsey & Company, Shutterstock, Architectural Record, Renzo Piano Building Workshop, and other celebrated companies. Kontor was backed by an early investment from Venrock, who was later joined by FF Angel (Founders Fund’s early stage investment vehicle), Wellington Partners, Female Founders Fund, and BBG Ventures. Kontor empowers everyone to design better offices.
