Kongsberg Ferrotech AS is developing the first generation of automated riser integrity management system. Through the use of our patented Oktapous IMR robot, Kongsberg Ferrotech will offer a game-changer to the oil and gas industry. Our robots will be able to deploy conventional products used on-shore to riser pipes in critical areas such as splash zones and subsea. The complete riser inspection, maintenance and structural repair operation can be performed within a single offshore mobilization which will no longer require human intervention (divers), ROVs or other vessel-supported equipment. Repairs will be carried out with minimum HSE requirements, cost will be reduced drastically, weather conditions will no longer be a challenging obstacle, and repair procedures can be performed immediately after inspection.
