Kogna was founded in 2024 by tax and technology leaders who had spent their careers watching the same problem from different sides. Tax reporting depends on data that no single system owns. Every cycle it is assembled by hand, reconciled under deadline, and then thrown away. Three things changed. Cloud data platforms made it viable to hold and process that data properly. Source systems became accessible rather than closed. And the reporting load moved from annual filings to Pillar 2, e-invoicing and near real-time VAT, past the point where a spreadsheet estate can carry it - or be auditable. Kogna exists to hold tax data as an asset rather than rebuild it every cycle.
