Kocurek Industries, Inc. / Hard Rock Division specializes in providing precision stone cutting for the oil and gas research industry. We are based in Caldwell, Texas and provide core samples that are used by major oil firms, universities, and research labs to gain a better understanding of oil and gas reservoirs around the world. Currently, core samples serve as some of the most valuable tools for reservoir analysis. Reservoir core analysis is conducted on the permeability and porosity of various types of rock formations to determine the ability of fluids to flow through the rocks and reservoir storage capacity. Our cutting-edge services and technologies make it possible to produce reservoir data that can be utilized to develop more efficient reservoir production programs. The measurements we produce can be used to make evaluations regarding the amount of oil and gas that may be present in a reservoir as well as the rates at which hydrocarbons can be produced. Along with cutting samples from stone provided by the customer, we also stock a variety of different types of stones quarried from locations around the world. Just a few of the various types of sandstone samples we stock at our Caldwell location include Berea (Grey and Buff), Nugget, Colton, Kentucky, Crab Orchard, Bentheimer, Bandera, Scioto, Idaho, Williamsfork. Carbonate blocks include Indiana Limestone, Edwards Limestone, Austin Chalk, Kansas Chalk, Silurian Dolomite, Bonne Terre Dolomite. We also stock and cut carbonate blocks, such as Indiana Limestone, Edwards Limestone, Austin Chalk, Kansas Chalk, Silurian Dolomite, Bonne Terre Dolomite. All of our cores can be cut using either brine or an oil saturation method, based on customer specific requirements. We can also provide rock properties with most of our in-stock stone. In order to meet the continually evolving needs of our clients, Kocurek Industries, Inc., has developed several custom designed test systems. These systems include high-pressure portable test carts and piston accumulators crafted from carbon or stainless steel. These unique testing systems are designed to be run manually or can be completely automated using your own data acquisition system. Our test systems use on the highest quality components, including Haskel Pumps, SwageLok Tubing & Fittings, Autoclave Valves & Safety Heads, and Ashcroft Gauges. In order to limit the potential for corrosion, our equipment is manufactured using aluminum and stainless steel. When repair or support is needed, we completely stand behind all of our systems.
