KOBLITZ has been aquired by AREVA GROUP on JAN/2008 becaming AREVA KOBLITZ KOBLITZ is the leading systems integrator for power generation and co-generation from renewable sources in Brazil. KOBLITZ operates its EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) activities in the industrial, independent energy production and in commercial markets. Some of the segments of these three markets are outstanding due to opportunities offered for process optimization and waste use. • In the industrial market, Koblitz has broad experience in the development of projects for sugar and alcohol plants, food, beverages, cement, timber, vegetal oils, rice, paper, ceramics processing plants, cold storage facilities, steel plants, and textile mills among others. • The most utilized sources by Independent Energy Producers are small hydroelectric plants, thermal power plants fueled by biomass, co-generation with natural gas and other energy sources. • In the commercial segment the focus is in the installation of natural gas co-generation units for commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels and malls. The company’s core business is biomass (mainly sugar & ethanol plants) and small hydroelectric plants. Since 1996, KOBLITZ has participated in 80 biomass projects, including 58 using sugarcane bagasse, totaling more than 2.400 MW of references.
