I am on a 2-month volunteer contract to conduct a series of usability studies on the Seattle.gov website. My responsibilities include analyzing the current site's information architecture, designing the studies, proctoring each usability test, compiling study data, collating study data with information from literature and "competitive" research, write up a research paper with conclusions and recommendations, and finally present and defend my findings to city officials (such as the Mayor's office or the City Council).
