Knott Associates Information

Formed in 1984 Knott Associates is a client-focused custom residential firm that can meet the needs of any sized project in any location. From interior and exterior remodels and additions to new custom homes, small commercial projects and historical renovations, the firm thrives in the diverse architectural setting San Francisco, Marin, Napa and Sonoma Counties offers. Founder Tom Knott got his start in architecture in high school when a drafting teacher encouraged him to pursue drawing and drafting. After taking second place in a local competition, Tom was hooked on the idea of becoming an architect. Tom found encouragement again when, at the junior college level, a professor praised his work and dedication to the craft. After transferring to and graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in Architecture, Tom began his career working for his former professor. It was in this working relationship with his former teacher that Tom began to refine his skills and truly develop a hunger for his work. Today as a licensed architect, Tom enjoys the design and architectural challenges presented by his clients. Hard working and focused, Tom feels most comfortable fulfilling his client's visions and dreams. His attention to detail and true passion to perfect his craft make it evident that he loves what he does. When he's not spending time with his family and dogs, Tom, a passionate cyclist, can be found most weekend days riding the roads of West Marin.
