KLF Engineering Information

KLF Engineering, a Virginia based engineering and land surveying firm, is owned and operated by Virginia native Kevin L. Floyd, PE, LS. Shortly after earning his BS degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1980, Mr. Floyd founded KLF Engineering. His firm has evolved from a "one man" operation to a multi-discipline engineering service provider. KLF Engineering offers expert services in wetland delineation, soil evaluation, structural engineering and design, potable water and sanitary sewer systems, site planning, residential subdivisions hydrology and road design. From the sub-soil to the rooftop, KLF Engineering is proud to say we're here to help guide you through the process. Mr. Floyd received his early training working in his family's land surveying and engineering business. He first served as a seven year old "stake bag toter" and progressed to a sixteen year old Survey Crew Chief. After graduating from high school, he attended Virginia Tech and earned his BS degree in civil engineering. He returned to his family's business where he served his required apprenticeship and acquired his state registration as a professional Engineer and Land Surveyor. In 1985, Mr. Floyd founded his own firm to broaden his field of interest.
