kleine herzen Information

kleine herzen (little hearts) is an Austrian non-profit organization founded in 2007, dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children in Ukraine and Cambodia. Through sponsorship programs, partnerships, and major donors, the organization has supported thousands of children and families. Its work focuses on child protection, education, healthcare, and improving living conditions through infrastructure development, educational support, and medical care. Projects are implemented in close cooperation with trusted local partners to ensure targeted and sustainable impact. Since 2010, kleine herzen has held the Austrian Seal of Approval for Charities, guaranteeing transparency and compliance with strict standards. Donations are tax-deductible. CAMBODIA Since 2019, kleine herzen has supported two centers providing education and care for 65–75 vulnerable children each, many of whom previously lived on the streets. A boarding school for 80 children from remote ethnic minority communities was also established, enabling access to public education. UKRAINE Since the outbreak of the war, kleine herzen has focused on emergency relief and child protection. In 2022, the organization coordinated the evacuation of 63 orphaned babies and toddlers to Austria and ensured their care until the completion of the project in June 2025, when the children were repatriated to Ukraine. The organization also works closely with Save Ukraine to support evacuation operations and repatriation efforts. Since 2024, kleine herzen has supported the renovation of an orphanage in Mykolaiv, providing a safe environment for nearly 200 children evacuated from conflict zones. The organization operates entirely on a non-profit basis and ensures the efficient use of donations under the personal oversight of its Chairwoman, Pascale Vayer. It has received multiple national awards, including the Gold Medal of Merit of the Republic of Austria and the “Lebensretter” Medal.
