KLAW LNG Information

KLAW LNG is the world leader and industry standard for bulk transfer, regas terminal, power station and small-scale LNG hose based safety transfer systems. Applications include Ship-to-Ship, Ship-to-Shore and Bunkering. If the ship breaks its moorings during a transfer operation and drifts out of control, then a hazardous situation can occur. The KLAW LNG safety system will then operate to firstly shut down the transfer process on ship or terminal facility (ESD-1) and rapidly disconnect the hose transfer system (ESD-2) via the use of a powered emergency released coupling (ERC) with independent isolation valves to both protect the hoses and keep the cargo contained within the transfer system. Ultimately, this means the operator maintains control and protection against the hazardous event. KLAW LNG systems minimises risk of damage to assets and the environment, injury to people, and costly downtime. The reputation of the industry and operators are also protected. KLAW LNG systems can be fully integrated into a ship or shore terminal system and can be supplied as functional safety systems to SIL1 or SIL2 compliance under IEC61511.
