Kindertherapy, P.C. is a quality oriented pediatric Occupational Therapy practice servicing children from infancy through the age of 21. Treatment is individualized and provided on a one-to-one basis. All treatment rendered is holistic in nature examining the needs of the whole child; i.e. the social/emotional, cognitive, perceptual, sensory and motor aspects of behavior. The objective is to always find the missing pieces of the puzzle for each child. Treatment is sensory based. An emphasis is placed on establishing the proper sensory diet in order to achieve a feeling of well-being and self-regulation. Self-regulation is achieved by promoting a state of calmness in oneself so that one can be as functional and productive as possible. This facilitates the accomplishment of all activities of daily living effectively and successfully, thus actualizing ones potential to the utmost. Parents are considered to be a vital component of the process that leads to successful remediation. Parental involvement to achieve carryover of treatment protocols into the home environment is emphasized at all times. We treat children with a variety of concerns ranging from: ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, learning disabilities, sensory processing disorders, poor handwriting, gross and fine motor deficits, neuromuscular disorders, traumatic brain injury, to name some of the most common.
