Kildare Counselling Service Information

Kildare Counselling Service provides private therapeutic support to the local Kildare community and surrounding areas. The company is headed by Mark McGuire and Linda McGuire. Mark has a wide depth of knowledge in working with adolescents and young adults, in particular those with criminal behaviours and substance abuse, as well as a wide variety of other mental health issues. Mark has completed specialised training in CBT after finishing his Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Mark has completed a Professional Certificate in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and has also travelled to the states where he was trained in CBT for Children and Adolescents at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, where he met with Dr. Aaron Beck and Dr Judith Beck. Linda is an accredited psychotherapist and clinical supervisor working with adults, couples and young people. After initially training in counselling Linda went on to complete a Masters in Play Therapy with Christchurch Canterbury University her research dissertation was on Clinical Supervision. Linda completed two years at Doctoral level with DCU. She has specialised in advanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with the Beck Institute, USA. With almost twenty years in the field of mental health Linda has completed many trainings in the area of trauma and has also led university degree programmes in the field of Counselling & Psychotherapy and Addiction Counselling throughout Ireland. Referrals to KCS can be made by contacting either Mark or Linda. KCS also offers an option of low cost counselling to those in financial difficulties. KCS is committed to promoting the development of other professionals in the field of counselling and phelps provide clinical hours to counselling trainees.
