Tappara ry on 1955 perustettu tamperelainen jääurheiluseura lajeinaan jääkiekko ja taitoluistelu. Seurassa pelaa, luistelee ja harrastaa noin 1400 lasta ja nuorta. Tappara ry pyörittää myös aikuisten harrastekiekko- ja luistelukoulutoimintaa. Tapparan valmentajat ohjaavat myös Tampereen ja lähikuntien koulujen liikuntakerhotoimintaa yli 100 tuntia viikossa.

Finnish Hockey League (Liiga) was founded in 1975. It is owned by it´s 17 teams located in 15 major cities in Finland. Liiga is the most watched sport league in Finland with total turnover of approx. 150 million Euros. It is the only fully professional sports series in Finland with 750 full-time professionals. Liiga season starts in the middle of September and lasts until May and there is 2,2-2,4 million spectators in arenas every season.
