Established in 1977, Kianda School is a top-performing, private day school for girls offering both primary and secondary education. The name Kianda stems from Bantu languages meaning a deep, fertile valley where everything planted grows and flourishes. Guided by a strong Catholic ethos, the school fosters Christian principles and embraces the intellectual, spiritual, and human development of every student. Our vision is to develop innovative leaders who provide and share solutions for a better world. We are on a mission to collaboratively provide a holistic education that empowers girls to positively influence and serve society. This commitment is anchored in our core values of Responsibility, Integrity, Service, and Excellence, encouraging our students to RISE with freedom. To support academic achievement, we utilize formative assessments during the term that enable staff and parents to closely track each student's progress. The school features a well-stocked library to cultivate a reading culture, a computer laboratory to enhance technological competence, up-to-date science laboratories, and a dedicated cookery room. Alongside academic facilities, our campus includes a chapel where a chaplaincy provides formational talks and offers optional spiritual services, including Holy Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, to students and staff. Everything we do is driven by our motto, In Opere et Veritate, meaning In Deed and in Truth. This serves as a permanent challenge to our staff and students to sanctify their work and make an effort to live virtuously. Just as the glowing fire in our school logo symbolizes a central hearth emanating warmth and the noble aspiration of women serving society, Kianda School strives to produce hardworking, responsible women who aim for excellence in all areas of their development.
